This Privacy Policy explains how Vedhik Cosmos (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal data when you use the Dodmansa mobile application, website, and related services at https://dodmansa.in (together, the “Platform”). Dodmansa is a single-movie OTT and fan-community service for the Kannada film Dodmansa.
By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
1. Who we are
The Platform is operated by Vedhik Cosmos. For privacy questions, account requests, and grievance redressal, contact us through in-app Support or email support@dodmansa.in / grievance@dodmansa.in.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Account and profile
- Name, email address, and mobile number
- Password (stored as a one-way hash; we cannot read it)
- Profile photo, if you upload one
- Firebase authentication identifiers (including UID) when you sign in with OTP
2.2 Authentication and security
- One-time passwords (OTP) sent to your mobile number or email, OTP attempt counts, and expiry times
- Password-reset tokens (hashed) and related timestamps
- Device identifiers you register with the app
2.3 Payments and rentals
- Rental plan selected, rental status, start and expiry times
- Payment amounts, GST, discounts, coupons, and payment status
- Razorpay order, payment, and refund identifiers
- We do not store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN, or net-banking password. Those are handled by Razorpay.
2.4 Viewing and app use
- Watch history and playback progress for trailers, media, and the rented feature film
- Favourites, ratings, and reviews you submit
- Support tickets and messages you send to us
2.5 Fan community
- Fan club memberships, posts, comments, polls, votes, event RSVPs
- Chat messages and media you share in conversations or clubs
- Blocks, mutes, and reports you make, and reports made about you
2.6 Notifications and diagnostics
- FCM (Firebase Cloud Messaging) tokens so we can send push notifications you have allowed
- Crash and performance logs via Firebase Crashlytics (device model, OS version, app version, stack traces)
- Approximate technical logs such as IP address, request time, and error messages needed to run and secure the Platform
2.7 Information we do not intentionally collect
We do not seek precise GPS location, contacts, SMS contents (other than OTP flows handled by the OS/Firebase), or microphone audio beyond what you choose to attach as media.
3. Why we use your information
- Create and secure your account, verify OTP, and prevent abuse
- Process rentals, GST invoices internally, coupons, and refunds
- Stream video you are entitled to watch and remember playback position
- Operate the fan community, moderation, and support
- Send transactional messages (rental confirmation, expiry, payment, support) and, where permitted, film or community updates
- Comply with Indian law, including tax, consumer, and intermediary due-diligence obligations
- Improve reliability, fix bugs, and protect copyright in the film
4. Legal bases (India)
We process personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable law, typically on the basis of:
- Your consent (account creation, optional profile photo, marketing notifications)
- Performance of a contract (rental, streaming, support)
- Legitimate uses permitted by law (security, fraud prevention, legal claims)
- Compliance with legal obligations (tax, court orders, IT Act / intermediary rules)
You may withdraw consent for optional processing (for example, promotional push notifications) in device settings or by contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect processing already completed or processing we must continue for a rental or legal duty.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as needed:
- Razorpay — to create orders, collect payment, and process refunds
- Firebase (Google) — authentication, push notifications, and crash reporting
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — to store and deliver the app, API, and video
- Other users — content you post publicly in clubs, comments, ratings, or chats is visible according to the feature you used
- Authorities — if required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, or the film’s copyright
6. Cookies and similar technologies
The website and admin tools may use cookies and local storage for login sessions and basic analytics. The mobile app uses device storage and tokens for the same purposes. See our Cookie Policy for details.
7. Retention
- Account data is kept while your account is active
- Payment and rental records are kept as required for tax, accounting, and dispute resolution (typically at least 8 years for books of account in India, or longer if a claim is pending)
- Community posts and chats remain until you delete them where the product allows, or we remove them for policy or legal reasons
- OTP and password-reset tokens expire automatically (OTP typically within 10 minutes)
8. Storage and security
Data is stored on servers used to operate https://dodmansa.in and on subprocessors listed above. We use access controls, hashed passwords, HTTPS, and admin audit logs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we work to reduce risk but cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your rights
Subject to the DPDP Act and other law, you may request:
- Access to personal data we hold about you
- Correction of inaccurate data (you can also edit name, email, mobile, and photo in Profile)
- Erasure of data that we are not required to keep
- Nomination / grievance redressal as provided under applicable law
To exercise these rights, open a Support ticket in the app or email support@dodmansa.in. We may need to verify your identity. We will respond within the time required by law.
If you want your account closed, request deletion via Support. We will disable the account and delete or anonymise personal data that we are not legally required to retain (for example, completed payment records).
10. Children
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and complete a paid rental. The film Dodmansa is certified UA 16+. Persons under 18 should use the Platform only with a parent or guardian who holds the account. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18 for their own accounts. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
11. International access
The Platform is intended for users in India. If you access it from outside India, your information may be processed in India and in countries where our subprocessors operate.
12. Changes
We may update this Policy. The effective date at the top will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Policy. Material changes may also be notified in the app.
